When should your next video be vertical?

Vertical video is strongest when the performance is intimate, the subject is singular, and the important motion happens close to the center. Landscape gives ensembles, locations, and lateral movement more room to breathe.

Decide before generating

Cropping a finished landscape composition into vertical often removes hands, instruments, or the relationship between performers. Pick the delivery frame before storyboard work and protect a center-safe area only when you truly need both formats.

Make alternate edits, not identical exports

A short vertical release can open on the chorus and use closer coverage, while the full landscape MV preserves the slower introduction. Both should share a visual world without pretending they are the same cut.
